ICU Nurse, Surgical Assistant
RN - PACU
This position is for a travel RN at the PACU department of AYA-Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. The shift is from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM, with three shifts per week totaling 36 scheduled hours. The contract starts on 08/10/2026 and ends on 11/09/2026, lasting 13 weeks. Candidates must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed. The unit supports all surgical/procedural populations, including regional anesthesia and ECT.
Nurses care for pre op, Phase I and Phase 2 recovery, pediatric and adult populations. Special equipment includes a Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein. ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications are required. COVID-19 and flu vaccines are required with medical/religious exemptions only. The candidate should have background in PACU or Pre/Post Op experience, and EPIC experience is required. No call in is allowed, and RTO must be on the profile and discussed in the interview.
Compact or LA license is required in hand upon submittal. References are not required for submission, but 2 Manager/Supervisor references will be needed to obtain clearance to start the contract.
