Service Now Engineer
Location:
New Orleans, LA (Remote)
Duration: 6 Months
Job Description:
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain Service Now applications and modules, including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, and custom applications. Develop workflows, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, catalog items, record producers, and Service Portal solutions to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze processes, and implement scalable Service Now solutions.
- Configure and support integrations between Service Now and third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, MID Server, and other integration technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, incidents, defects, and performance bottlenecks while ensuring system stability and reliability.
- Participate in platform upgrades, patching activities, and release management processes, ensuring minimal impact to business operations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks. Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to Service Now development best practices, governance standards, and security requirements.
- Support Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog grooming, estimation, testing, and deployment.
- Work closely with platform administrators, architects, and support teams to continuously improve Service Now capabilities and user experience.
- Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Service Now development and administration. Minimum 3+ years of experience implementing and supporting ITSM modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Service Catalog Management.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with JavaScript, Glide API, Service Now scripting, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Script Includes.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience developing integrations using REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, Integration Hub, and MID Server.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience with Service Now Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, and Automation solutions.
- Experience with Service Now platform upgrades, update sets, application lifecycle management, and release deployments.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong understanding of Service Now data model, CMDB, and platform architecture. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Nice to Have; (But not a must)
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA). Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- Experience with ITOM, Discovery, Service Mapping, Asset Management, HRSD, CSM, or Sec Ops modules.
- Experience with Service Now AI, Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence, and Automation Engine.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Project Lead or Technical Lead experience.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments with global Service Now implementations.
- Knowledge of Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines, and source control tools such as Git.
