We are now accepting resume/applications for Skilled Laborers for the New Orleans, LA, and surrounding areas. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:
Job ScopeA General Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site. Their duties include loading and unloading tools or raw materials, assembling scaffolding or other pieces of equipment and digging or filling in pits throughout the construction process.
Schedule8-10 Hour Days (with weather permitting) Monday - Friday (Weekends as needed)
Duration of Job1 Week
Position RequirementsMust have reliable transportation. Must be able to provide own PPE. Must be able to pass a drug screen.
Required SkillsStrong oral & written communication skills Ability to work effectively with others. Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus. Good physical condition and endurance
Duties/Responsibilities:Physical Requirements
Cleaning and preparing a job site. Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized. Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities Cleanup work area and equipment after work is completed. Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working. Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments Ability to work in an environment with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space.
Provide assistance to contractors (i.e., craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed. Transport merchandise between receiving stations, warehouse, and production areas. Record the material amount or count received and circulated. Maintain industry vehicles and material handling equipment in safe and good working condition. Drive industrial vehicles to transfer materials. Operate manual material handling equipment such as hand jacks and wheeled carts safely.
Lift and carry merchandises/material as needed. Inspect merchandise upon delivery to identify any damages. Load and unload merchandise to and from trailers. Manage housekeeping activities when requested. Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner. Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards. Must be able to lift up to 50 LBS.
Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks. Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
