In coordination with Rolling Hills Local Schools, the East Central Ohio ESC is seeking a tutor for the after school program at Cedar Ridge. Tutors work with students to provide educational support in reading and mathematics by using a variety of techniques including hands‑on activities, technology, field trips and small group instruction to build upon the lessons taught in the traditional classroom setting.

• Valid Ohio license or permit appropriate for the assignment
• Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred

• Creates and implements lesson plans that include reading and math development, character development, physical activity, and enrichment activities
• Tutors small groups of students to develop their cognitive abilities and improve upon their academic skills
• Works to build student self‑esteem and motivation through positive reinforcement
• Collaborates with school staff to develop positive relationships with students and align learning strategies with academic goals
• Prepares and implements enrichment activities in coordination with the 21st Century Site Coordinator
• Provides a positive learning environment for students requiring flexibility and patience
• Analyzes student performance and provides reports on student progress
• Meets with parents and/or student’s teacher as needed

Up to 5 hours per week.

After school/Evening

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
