Job Description

As the Master Planner you will orchestrate the translation of unconstrained demand forecasts into highly feasible, operationally validated, physically constrained supply plans. You will own the supply plan and material constraints while co‑owning critical S&OP trade‑off decisions on the monthly cadence of the S&OP Supply Chain Review. Your responsibilities include validating demand inputs, running capacity and material constraints, reconciling gaps, and driving execution of the locked operating plan across cross‑functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead demand validation and data integrity ensuring accurate and realistic forecasts; challenge bias and errors; review backlogs with Customer Fulfillment Solutions; validate master data including lead times, batch/lot sizes, and safety stock levels.
  • Translate demand into feasible supply plans by evaluating material and capacity constraints; run MRP simulations, identify shortages and long lead‑time risks; evaluate production sequences against vessel and labor capacity; conduct scenario planning with pull‑in/push‑out strategies and alternate sourcing.
  • Reconcile demand against supply to prepare decision‑ready scenarios; identify unmet demand; define allocation strategies and service priorities; document supply and capacity risks; recommend inventory strategies.
  • Drive decision readiness and closure by summarizing gaps, trade‑offs, and risks for the Plan Consensus Review; lock the operating plan; communicate execution priorities to Production, Procurement, Logistics, and CFS teams; propose targets for the next cycle.
  • Support day‑to‑day execution of the operational plan; react to operational realities; set priorities in alignment with supply‑chain partners; monitor material shortages; coordinate expedite actions; oversee purchase requisitions to purchase orders; track production adherence; update for quality holds or unplanned downtime.
  • Manage inventory touchpoints: validate system accuracy; review service levels; drive reductions for slow‑moving/non‑moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects; support new product introductions and lifecycle management; define methodologies to prioritize activities of the master planner team.
  • Propose and lead new policies, processes, and procedures within supply planning to ensure continuous improvement and expand use of new tools, measurements, and methodologies.
  • Transfer knowledge to other employees through coaching and mentoring.
  • Champion a Safety First mindset.
Key Characteristics
  • Team player with proactive and self‑starter behavior.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills; ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective verbal and written communication of information and data.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large datasets or spreadsheets.
  • Supports continuous improvement activities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced analytical and technical problem‑solving skills for complex trade‑off decisions.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced MRP planning modules (e.g., SAP/MRP).
  • Proactive leadership and influence across cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Comfortable manipulating large datasets to develop supply scenarios.
  • Strong adherence to safety.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related major, OR high school diploma with at least eight years of planning or related supply chain work experience.
  • At least five years of planning or relevant supply chain work experience.
  • Five years of experience on SAP‑MRP or logistic modules.

Preferred: ASCM CPIM certification in production and inventory planning.
