Standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Responsibilities- Under the direction and ongoing supervision of the registered nurse, provide essential personal care assistance to the patient: bath, care of mouth, skin, and hair, bathroom or using bedpan or commode.
- Bed transfers as well as ambulation activities as ordered under the care plan.
- Range of motion exercises which the aide has been taught by appropriate professional personnel.
- Perform incidental household services essential to the patient’s well‑being at home.
- Prepare meals including a special diet.
- Take a patient’s temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure if assigned by a registered nurse.
- Assist with shopping if the patient has no other resources available.
- Provide emotional support and compassionate care to the patient and family unit; demonstrate listening skills; offer encouragement when appropriate; practice patience in voice and manner.
- Maintain required competency and skills: documented initial and ongoing every 14‑day supervision and evaluation by RN on each case assignment; clinical record notes within 48 hours; annual performance review; report changes in patient condition; practice Standard Precautions per OSHA; adhere to policies; attend at least twelve hours of in‑service education per year; maintain current certification; maintain knowledge of infectious disease protocols.
- Maintain the agency’s mission, philosophy, and core values; ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures regarding patient care, complaints, incidents, safety, and emergency management; maintain patient confidentiality, including HIPAA regulations.
