Job Description
What you will do:
Plan & conduct complex geologic investigations to evaluate citizen complaints & regulated industry referrals alleging ground water impacts (e.g., contamination, diminution) or environmental impacts from oil field operations
Conduct investigations
Coordinate and complete sampling activities
Prepare reports that summarize ground water investigation or environmental assessment findings & conclusions for review by program manager
Prepare summaries of findings, recommend corrective action & administrative enforcement actions involving contaminated or diminished ground water supplies
Review and recommend appropriate actions for remedial action plans submitted to a section
Testify as expert witness in civil, criminal, and administrative hearings to support enforcement actions involving contamination or diminution of public or private water supplies or from environmental impacts as a result of oil & gas exploration, production, brine disposal or solution mining operations
Starting hourly pay of $31.47/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 7.5 years of service, with an end salary of $46.08/hr there may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in geology, hydrogeology or other specialized geologic science AND 24 mos. exp. in geologic field, laboratory &/or drafting methods & techniques.
-Or completion of graduate core program in geology, hydrogeology or other specialized geologic science AND 12 mos. exp. in geologic field, laboratory &/or drafting methods.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
