The Assistant Site Director of Nursing (ASDON) is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all professional and nonprofessional staff at the designated facility, under the supervision of the Site Director of Nursing. The ASDON provides coordination and supervision of all child/client/family and employee activities that happen on a day-to-day basis. The ASDON is responsible for the supervision of all tasks and duties delegated by the Site Director of Nursing.

The ASDON is the total quality client/family advocate, supervising the coordination of care in a multi-disciplinary method. The ASDON coordinates care for children and families, assesses needs, arranges clinical options, and facilitates referrals to primary providers, specialists, healthcare facilities, and community resources. The ASDON will be familiar with Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) regulations.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state of the designated facility or, if applicable, have a qualifying Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Office.
• A minimum of two (2) years current nursing experience, including at least six (6) months in a PICU, NICU, or PPEC facility.
• Current CPR (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
• Current TB test required.

• Provide exceptional customer service and quality care.
• Act as a role model, providing professional and courteous service to children and families. Facilitate team efforts to deliver this care.
• Promote team assignments that ensure quality care, considering professional experience and patient needs.
• Assist the Medical Director in determining client eligibility for admission and participate in team efforts to meet goals.
• Maintain confidentiality in all interactions.
• Provide counseling, guidance, and supervision to team members positively.
• Follow chain of command for questions or concerns, encouraging staff to do the same.

• Perform nursing assessments utilizing established guidelines, providing individualized care based on the child's age and needs.
• Evaluate client eligibility, schedule assessments, and handle emergent situations calmly.
• Coordinate care per physician instructions, supervise reporting of child status, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Manage procedures requiring specialized knowledge, make holistic judgments, and provide direct client care as needed.
• Support and advocate for clients and families, ensuring a safe and clean environment.

• Stay current with The Kidz Club (TKC) updates through meetings and communications.
• Attend in-service training, participate in planning, and educate staff on health issues and infection control.
• Administer injections/vaccinations and maintain records.
• Participate in QA programs, data collection, and problem evaluation.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support certification and nursing license.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and work schedules as per TKC guidelines.
