Jr. Validation Engineer

As a Jr. Validation Engineer in our Optical Verification team, you'll work on the cutting edge of hardware, software, and systems innovation. You'll contribute to the integration and testing of advanced technology solutions, ensuring they meet functional and performance requirements. Your work will span from lab setup and maintenance to verifying complex systems and supporting customer-specific feature development. Ideal for curious, analytical minds eager to solve real-world challenges and contribute to continuous product improvement.

Responsibilities

As a Jr. Validation Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team developing, testing, and supporting innovative hardware and software systems. In this role, you will:

  • Analyze, design, and test integrated hardware/software solutions based on customer requirements, contributing to product enhancements and bug resolutions.
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues by diagnosing hardware/software problems and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support the planning and implementation of technical requirements, including controlled software/hardware production releases and updates.
  • Apply quality standards and participate in process improvements and documentation for product evolution and support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical knowledge and informal guidance to peers and support teams.
Your Skills and Experience

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (graduating Dec 2024 or May 2025).
  • Understanding of hardware/software system integration, with the ability to analyze, design, and test technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with version control systems and experience supporting software/hardware release cycles is a plus.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and interest in contributing to process improvement and technical documentation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and provide peer-level guidance when needed.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Previous Nokia intern or co-op experience.
