Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
A Financial Services firm is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Fund Accountant in their New Jersey office. This role will follow a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Review daily and monthly estimated and final fund Net Asset Values (NAVs).
- Prepare and review capital call and distribution allocations.
- Support the tracking of investment costs and ongoing monitoring of investment fair values.
- Manage and oversee the quarterly NAV and portfolio reconciliation process, including investigating and resolving discrepancies with internal operations teams.
- Calculate management fees, distributions, waterfall allocations, and internal rate of return (IRR).
- Prepare and review fund forecasts, performance estimates, attribution analysis, and various ad hoc reports and projects.
- Assist in the review of investor statements and internal reporting materials.
- Coordinate with external auditors to support the year-end audit process.
- Oversee and review deliverables prepared by offshore teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform other duties, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting, audit, or fund administration; experience in public or private accounting also acceptable
- Background in private equity, hedge funds, or audit strongly preferred
- Familiarity with SEC and other regulatory filing requirements for investment funds is a plus
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, technical, and written/verbal communication skills
