Exercise Physiologist OP Providence

Exciting opportunity for an Exercise Physiologist at Atlantic Health within the Overlook Medical Center cardiac rehab program. This candidate will demonstrate strong clinical and patient engagement skills to assist our patients overall wellbeing.

• Collaborates on initial assessment and treatment plan design of both our outpatient cardiac rehab and Supervised Exercise Therapy for Peripheral Artery Disease patients (SET-PAD).
• Shared supervision of all cardiac rehab and SET-PAD patients.
• Assists team in providing appropriate exercise guidance to maintain optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrates ability to identify signs and symptoms to provide a safe and effective environment and understands when to report urgent and non‑urgent clinical needs of patients.
• Has understanding of physiological changes during exercise and how to apply to exercise programming.
• Demonstrates ECG screening and recognition competency.
• Provides risk factor education to patients.
• Helps drive patient outcome collection and improvement.
• Communicates effectively with other team members and medical staff to maximize patient safety and success.
• Assists in delivering education to team members on exercise principles.
• Works with entire team and leadership in mentoring new employees and interns.
• Collaborates on projects to support the department and the cardiovascular service line.
• Demonstrates strong teamwork and problem‑solving skills.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or related field.
  • BLS.
• Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or related field.
  • Certification in American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
  • ACLS.
