General Summary
The Volunteer and Events Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, education, engagement, retention and recognition of our volunteer corps. Identifies, plans and coordinates outreach, educational and volunteer programs. Assigns volunteers the most appropriate and suitable position based on background, skills and availability. Organizes and executes internal and external events as assigned. Meets with internal departments (ex: facilities) on events and programs to ensure communication, organization and consistency.
Establishes and maintains positive and productive relationships with donor families, volunteers, employees, stakeholders, community organizations and businesses. Must be available for weeknight and weekend events, and available to respond to volunteers in a timely manner. Responsible for timely compliance with all Network programs and policies.
- Plans and coordinates events, outreach, education and programs for volunteers, donor families and other key constituents.
- Assigns volunteers the most appropriate and suitable position based on background, skills and availability.
- Coordinates and executes internal and external events as assigned utilizing check lists, meeting with internal departments and ensuring best practices of event management are followed.
- Manages and/or facilitates trainings for volunteers. Maintains and updates the curriculum and material and monitors to ensure it remains current and relevant to the targeted communities.
- Oversees, operates and utilizes the system that handles volunteer profiles and events and programs.
- Establishes and maintains positive and productive relationships with donor families, volunteers, employees, stakeholders, community organizations and businesses.
- Collaborates with leadership to communicate important and emerging news and information to our volunteers, donor families, stakeholders and key constituents.
- Collaborates on the SOPs related to the volunteer group.
- Maintains the record maintenance of volunteers and report generation, importing and exporting data in the Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge database.
- Participates in department events and programs as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in a non-profit environment preferred.
Salary: $49,760.00 - $74,700.00
