Product Development​/Merchandising Opportunities- ALL LEVELS

Hybrid capacity: product roles must work in the New Providence, NJ office approximately 2‑3 days per week.

As a member of our Product Development/Creative Merchandising teams, you will manage the development of products from concept to creation. These dynamic roles encompass product development, brand management, merchandising, and overall business ownership. You will need a solid understanding of the product life cycle and the ability to work within tight deadlines while managing multiple products al candidates have experience in toys, arts & crafts, accessories, or a similar industry.

• Focus on new ideation and concept generation of new brands, programs, and product extensions to fill missing category voids.
• Conduct market research to identify current and upcoming trends, retail gaps in product and packaging, and perform competitive retail landscape analysis.
• Continuously identify and drive improvements in existing product lines to deliver better‑performing products, drive cost savings, and increase product appeal and retail sales.
• Collaborate with merchandising, design, and product engineering team members to generate and execute new product and packaging concepts. Work with the design team to create style guide direction and oversee product and packaging creation.
• Produce trend and concept boards for new product and customer meetings. Provide direction to support teams to create presentations, including mock‑up samples, prototypes, and presentation boards, and oversee preparation of other support tools like trend boards and retail competitive analysis.
• Perform margin analysis on programs and work with merchandising team members to continually improve overall financial performance of SKUs.
• Oversee daily communication with overseas offices regarding issues of new product development, sourcing, costing, price negotiations, and sampling/prototyping.
• Assist in providing item, costing, and margin information to the sales team on programs.
• Accompany sales team on presentations and sales calls as needed.
• Translate customer feedback to design and overseas teams to adjust artwork, packaging, retail price points, and margins.
• Review and comment on all production approval samples and work with overseas offices to correct issues before items go into production.
• Monitor and analyze POS of active SKUs to guide upcoming product improvements and line‑plan alteration strategies.
• Work with testing and compliance teams on new and existing products to ensure products are safe, age‑appropriate, and properly labeled for retail.

• Product development/management experience in a CPG or retail company (toys, arts & crafts, accessories, etc.) strongly preferred.
• Experience in sourcing, costing, and in‑house product development.
• Experience communicating with overseas suppliers.
• Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to work on tight deadlines and in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong sense of trends, fashion, color, and design.
• Must be able to work from our New Providence, NJ office in a hybrid capacity.
• Salary range will vary depending on job level and experience.
