Location: New Richmond, WI 54017 (If this location isn't a fit, we have other openings in Waupun, Lisbon, Black River Falls, and Chippewa Falls.)

Pay rate: $55/hr.

Duration: 6-month contract with possible extension

Setting: Primary care
- Correctional

Schedule: 40 hours weekly, Monday
- Friday: 7 am - 03:30 pm (Flexible if needed)

Overview: Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care within a correctional facility setting. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, providing direct care, responding to emergencies, administering medications, and supporting the overall health and safety of the patient population.

This facility operates as both a Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) and an Evaluation, Referral, and Placement/Substance Use Disorder (ERP/SUD) site. The role requires close monitoring of patients' medical conditions, as the facility experiences a high volume of patient admissions and discharges. Many individuals are temporarily housed at this location while awaiting placement or transfer to another facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting.
  • Assess, triage, and respond to patient health concerns and medical requests.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders and facility policies.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Monitor patients with acute, chronic, and ongoing medical needs.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
  • Coordinate care with providers, mental health staff, custody staff, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Assist with sick call, follow-up appointments, and ongoing patient care needs.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and facility guidelines.
  • Follow infection control, safety, and security procedures at all times.
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • Previous correctional, emergency, medical-surgical, long-term care, or acute care nursing experience preferred.
