Westfields Hospital is hiring an overnight Security Officer. The primary role and responsibility of this position is to protect people, property, information, and the reputation of Health Partners, Westfields Hospital & Clinics, and the Valley Region's hospitals and clinics. This position will represent Health Partners, performing duties in a courteous and professional manner that conveys a positive image of the organization and that fosters cooperation and support with staff, patients, visitors, and external agencies.
This position will respond to a wide variety of routine public service and emergency support calls requiring various problem-solving techniques, judgment, verbal de-escalation, and appropriate use of force.
This position requires the ability to independently manage work, completing the duties outlined in this job description and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Minimum:
High school graduate or equivalent. - 2 years previous experience in:
- Security, law enforcement or public safety.
- Customer service.
- Military service

- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong commitment to customer service, and the needs of our Health Partners employees, members, patients, and visitors.
- Strong problem-solving skills. Individual must be capable of accurately assessing needs, maintaining a calm business demeanor, and taking quick action to resolve issues.
- Demonstrated clear and effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to promote the open flow of information by actively soliciting and listening to the ideas of others.
- Proven ability and commitment to being discreet, tactful, and timely when addressing internal and external customer needs.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work with all levels of Health Partners leadership, vendors/contractors, members, colleagues, patients, and customers.
- Ability to evaluate and analyze processes, and to make recommendations to the Security Manager.
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office.
- Ability to drive with personal vehicle to any Health Partners Valley region site within 3 hours.
- Ability to work a scheduled shift and can flex to cover other shifts in urgent or emergent situations.
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Preferred: 2 or 4-year degree in Security/Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice/Social science or human services related field; or, currently in a related degree program.
