Heavy Civil / Highway Construction Superintendent

As a Heavy Civil / Highway Construction Superintendent, you will oversee daily field operations, lead crews and subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards. You will play a key role in coordinating resources, solving field challenges, and driving successful project execution.
What You Will Do- Lead all day-to-day job site operations from project start through completion
- Manage field crews, subcontractors, equipment, and vendors
- Drive production while maintaining cost control and schedule expectations
- Coordinate material deliveries and maintain accurate project documentation
- Monitor quality control to ensure work meets project specifications
- Enforce safety standards in alignment with company policies and OSHA regulations
- Develop and manage short-term look-ahead schedules
- Identify field challenges early and manage change orders and adjustments as needed
- 3+ years of experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil or highway construction
- Strong field experience with:
- Earthwork including cuts and fills
- Utilities and pipe installation
- Rock excavation
- Blasting, crushing, and screening
- Grading and subgrade preparation
- DOT specifications and standards
- Experience independently managing large-scale construction projects
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct crews and maintain productivity
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office;
Microsoft Project experience is a plus - OSHA 30 certification required
- College degree preferred, ideally in Engineering or a related field
