Commissioning Engineer – Data Centre
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commissioning Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the commissioning and operational readiness of cutting‑edge data centre facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment, ensuring the seamless integration of critical systems and infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Lead the commissioning process for data centre systems, including electrical, mechanical, and IT infrastructure.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules to ensure project milestones are met.
- Conduct thorough testing, troubleshooting, and validation of systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with design specifications.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including design, construction, and operations, to address technical challenges and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation, including test results, commissioning records, and operational manuals.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements throughout the commissioning process.
- Provide technical support and training to operational teams to ensure a smooth transition to full operational status.
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in commissioning, preferably within data centre environments or critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including HVAC, power distribution, and backup systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices such as ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, and TIA‑942.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using commissioning software and tools is an advantage.
- Review design documents and specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Conduct on‑site inspections and tests to verify system functionality and performance.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to address any issues or discrepancies during the commissioning process.
- Document and report progress, challenges, and resolutions to project stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical input for successful delivery.
- Support handover by providing comprehensive training and documentation to the operations team.
