Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Radiology and based in our New Rochelle Campus, this position supervises the radiology activities, personnel, and resource management of a diagnostic imaging office in accordance with Interventional Radiology's established policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Overall responsibility for the technical competencies of the staff and for ensuring that the operations of the radiology department are safe, effective and timely.
· Demonstrates the ability to organize and adapt to changes in healthcare and consistently makes sound judgments based on factual and objective information.
· Maintains these diagnostic imaging services in accordance with standards established with the department director, federal, state, local and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals.
· Observe all rules and regulations regarding radiation safety for patients and staff.
· Staff development and competencies. Support training programs, promote employee recognition, and evaluate competencies. Build strong lead technologists through mentoring and leadership example
· Develop and maintain written technical protocols for each service
· Perform Quality Improvement. Submits Quality Improvement data and reports on a monthly basis.
· Monitor and maintain performance of all equipment.
· Written evaluation of technical staff on a bi-annual basis.
· Coordinate activities of the radiology staff for safe, timely and effective production of diagnostic imaging services.
· Build strong collegial relationships with medical staff, hospital personnel and other associates that interact with the department.
· Perform to completion sonograms of indicated anatomical areas using available modalities following prescribed protocols.
· Practices AIDET acknowledge, introduce, duration, explain and thank.
· Interview patients for identification, patient education and detailed clinical history.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises the employees in the clinical site. Carries out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of management principles and practices; strong business management skills. Experience as technologist in the radiology industry preferred. Knowledge UKG, Workday, Epic preferred
Educational Requirements:
College degree required;
Minimum Associates Degree 5 years or more of supervisor experience in a health care setting preferably radiology ARRT or ARDMS board certified required
