Overview

Speechify’s mission is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Speechify’s text-to-speech products are used by over 50 million people to turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio to help users read faster, read more, and remember more. The product family includes iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome Extension, and Web App. Speechify has been recognized with awards such as Chrome Extension of the Year and Apple’s 2025 Design Award for Inclusivity.

Today, nearly 200 people work in a 100% distributed setting with backgrounds spanning frontend and backend engineering, AI research, and experience from companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, as well as startup and academic environments.

Overview:
The responsibilities of our Platform team include building and maintaining all backend services, including but not limited to payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text to speech, and external APIs. This is a key role for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, and is passionate about making product decisions and delivering great user experiences that delight users.

We are a flat organization that encourages leadership through strong technical skills and consistent, fast results. Work ethic, solid communication, and an obsession with winning are Paramount. Our interview process involves several technical interviews with the aim to complete them within one week.
