AVAILABLE POSITION - CHEER COACH

Location - New Ulm Middle School, 414 S Payne Street, New Ulm, MN 56073

Job Summary - The cheer coach is responsible for running all aspects of the program. The coach provides leadership and expertise regarding the rules, strategies, and techniques for the assigned activity, utilizing knowledge of the specific equipment and events, physical fitness, and safety. Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Prepare successful practice and performance plans while encouraging student participation, establishing team rapport and motivating participants to achieve maximum potential.
• Be an example of sportsmanship.
• Maintain equipment and inventory of all equipment including uniforms.
• Supervise all areas of participation including but not limited to gyms, fields, locker rooms, buses, etc.
• Work collaboratively with staff, Activities Director, families, and community resources.
• Maintain compliance with all rules and regulations of the MSHSL.
• Comply with and support all school district regulations and policies in addition to completion of mandatory training including but not limited to Blood Borne Pathogen, Mandatory Reporting, and First Aid.

Qualifications
-

• Previous high school/middle school coaching experience preferred.
• The ability to motivate student-athletes in an education-based manner is required, as well as the ability to ensure proper skill development is being achieved. View success not just as winning; but as helping team members to reach goals.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the program and the local community.

Start Date - 2026 Fall Sports Season

Compensation Package - Position Classification C6 offers a starting salary of $1,653.60 - $1,860.30, based on experience. No benefits package is offered with this position.
