Capital Project Engineer
As a Capital Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Your impact in this role will include:
- Managing project timelines and budgets for assigned projects
- Leading a cross‑functional team to execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Interacting with multiple discipline teams including plant personnel, consultants, and suppliers
- Estimating capital equipment and installation costs
- Protecting 3M intellectual property
To set you up for success from day one, 3M requires the following qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or Technical Diploma (completed prior to start) and five (5) years of combined experience in engineering, manufacturing, and/or project management in a private, public, government, or military environment
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed prior to start) and three (3) years of combined experience in engineering, manufacturing, and/or project management in a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further include:
- Five (5) years of combined experience in capital equipment and/or facilities project management in a private, public, government, or military environment
- Prior experience with webline, extrusion, material handling, or inspection equipment
- Team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment
- Proficient user of typical business, office, and technical software for tasks such as spreadsheet computation and project scheduling

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, and technologies subject to U.S. Export Control laws.
