The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
- Lead and contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives that deliver measurable, step‑change improvements in Safety, Quality, Customer Service, and Operational Efficiency.
- Monitor productivity and cost performance, and initiate improvement projects as needed.
- Provide daily production support within your assigned area.
- Understand key customer requirements and ensure processes consistently meet capability expectations.
- Apply technical expertise to support site and departmental needs, including special projects.
- Communicate project progress, implementation status, and cost impacts to plant management and supervision.
- Enhance your technical skill set by developing a strong network across the New Ulm plant and the broader 3M organization.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success, 3M requires at a minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further include:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience working within a manufacturing or process engineering environment.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Work location:
- On site New Ulm, MN
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international.
Relocation: May be authorized.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for an employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
