Manufacturing Supervisor (Afternoon Shift)
3M invites you to apply for the Manufacturing Supervisor role on the afternoon shift. This position offers you the opportunity to use your production leadership experience in a dynamic environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role- Meet facility and department objectives in safety, quality, service, productivity and employee engagement.
- Lead with humility and drive a safety‑first culture at all times.
- Coordinate staffing and communicate scheduling expectations to meet customer demands; assist production with quality or equipment issues to maintain product integrity.
- Resolve process, maintenance, equipment, technical and personnel issues to sustain production levels and meet customer orders.
- Provide leadership in training coordination and execution; ensure employees receive required safety training and maintain compliance.
- Approve and close production reports to guarantee reporting accuracy (where applicable).
- Implement and document administrative services such as audit standards, vacation planning and overtime.
- Document and help resolve safety or ergonomic issues; complete safety incident reports and maintain a closed‑loop system.
- Monitor housekeeping to keep the area clean and orderly.
- Respond to emergency situations appropriately and administer disciplinary corrective actions when necessary.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires the following minimum qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Five (5) years of manufacturing and/or production leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor’s Degree (completed and verified prior to start) in a related field.
- Previous experience in supervising direct hourly reports.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Demonstrated success working in a cross‑functional team environment.
- Ability to engage your team and align to a strategic plan.
- Ability to drive and influence positive change.
- On‑site New Ulm, MN
May include up to 5% domestic travel.
