Practice Details:
- Full-time position, Monday
- Friday business hours. No call or weekends. Outpatient-based role located at New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm, Minnesota. - Provide care for patients with solid tumors and hematologic conditions
- Care for patients across the treatment continuum, including active treatment visits, Infusion center support, survivorship and follow-up care
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including:
Oncology providers, surgical and medical specialists and radiation oncology partners

Job Description:
Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a physician/nurse team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.
Principle Responsibilities
- Provides clinical care for patients
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
- Refers for specialty care when determined.
- Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
- Participates in health care team
- Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
- Acts as resource to members of the team.
- Works with primary care team for program development.
- Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
- Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program or physician assist program required.
- Minimum of 1 year of NP or PA experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer a minimum of 2 years of experience in Oncology.
Licenses/Certifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire ( RN)
- Certified Nurse Practitioner - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire or Certified Physician Assistant- MN Medical Board required upon hire.
Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) - National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants within specialty required upon hire.
BLS required within 180 Days- Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire

Pay Range
