Key Position DetailsCasual role with 8‑ and 12‑hour day/evening/night shifts. Occasional weekends. Charge Nurse role.
PALS and NRP certification required (can be obtained upon hire).
- Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on needs assessment.
- Establish plan of care, supervise progress, and modify plan as needed.
- Maintain education and competencies to remain proficient in high‑quality patient care practice.
- Incorporate evidence‑based nursing practice while considering current statutes, rules and regulations when developing the plan of care.
- Collaborate with family and patient to establish realistic, measurable expected outcomes based on nursing diagnoses, present and potential capabilities, goals, available resources and continuity of care plans.
- Identify age‑appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable outcomes.
- Coordinate, collaborate and delegate appropriately to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
- Fulfill all organizational requirements.
- When acting as Charge Nurse, demonstrate ability to coordinate, delegate and direct unit operations, collaborating effectively with unit staff, leadership and other disciplines.
- When acting as Preceptor, demonstrate ability to identify orientee learning needs, plan appropriate learning experiences and validate clinical competence of the orientee.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Required:
Associate's or Vocational degree; 2‑5 years RN experience. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree; 0‑2 years critical‑care RN experience.
- Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing (required if working in MN) upon hire; WI Department of Safety & Professional Services (required if working in WI) upon hire.
- Must meet at least one of the following:
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross.
- Allina in‑house BLS training (within 30 days of hire).
- Allina in‑house ACLS training required upon completion of orientation.
- ACLS/BLS Tier 3 – Multisource required if working in rapid response or code teams.
- Certified Critical Care RN – American Association of Critical‑Care Nurses (AACN) preferred.
- RN‑C appropriate to department specialty preferred.
- SCRN Stroke Certified RN preferred.
- Medium work: lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently.
- $40.79 to $61.77 per hour (base hourly pay). Pay may vary based on experience, education, union agreement, shift and weekend differentials.
