Overview

Location:

1324 5th St N, New Ulm, MN

Shift: Permanent Nights, 12‑hour shifts, every 3rd weekend.

Hours per week: 24

Union: MNA-06-New Ulm RN‑RNU

FTE: 0.60 (48 hours per two‑week pay period).

Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; supervising progress; and modifying the plan as needed.
  • Maintain education and competencies to remain proficient in high‑quality patient care practices and skills.
  • Incorporate evidence‑based nursing practice considering current statutes, rules and regulations when developing the plan of care.
  • Collaborate with family and patient to establish realistic, measurable expected outcomes based on nursing diagnoses and patient capabilities.
  • Identify outcomes that are age appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable.
  • Coordinate, collaborate and delegate appropriately to ensure care is provided safely and effectively.
  • Fulfill all organizational requirements.
Supplemental Roles
  • Charge Nurse – Demonstrates ability to coordinate, delegate and direct unit operations; collaborates effectively with unit staff, leadership and other disciplines.
  • Preceptor – Demonstrates ability to identify the orientee's learning needs, plan appropriate learning experiences and validate clinical competence.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Vocational degree.
  • Minimum 2 years ED or critical care experience.
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor’s degree.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required on hire; WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required in WI on hire.
  • Must meet at least ONE of the following: current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, current BLS certification from the American Red Cross, Allina in‑house BLS training within 30 days of hire;
    Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 1 year.
  • Additional certifications may be needed:
    Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Other site‑specific certifications required within 1 year of hire.
Physical Demands

Medium work:
Lifting weight up to 32 lbs occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy); up to 25 lbs frequently.

Pay

Hourly range: $40.79 to $61.77. The starting rate depends on experience, education, union agreement and shift differentials.
