American Traveler is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN with a minimum of 1 year of specialty experience and MN RN licensure for a night shift assignment at a critical access hospital.
Details- Labor and Delivery unit at a critical access facility with a Level 4 trauma designation
- LDRP work setting with fewer than 100 facility births per month
- Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Patient ratios of 1:2-3 on nights and weekends
- Average daily census of 1-2 patients
- Every other weekend required, with willingness to work every third weekend as an alternative
- No on-call responsibilities
- May float within scope to other units such as Med/Surg to monitor at-risk patients or assist with vitals, toileting, and repositioning, without taking a full patient assignment outside OB
- Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required
- Active MN RN license (in hand preferred, pending license accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and IV starts
- Must be able to manage all aspects of labor and delivery care including triage, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- Copies of certifications, Nursys verification, and at least one supervisor reference required for consideration
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn stages
- Support high-risk deliveries, hemorrhage/shock management, and medication administration including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Assist with newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and discharge teaching to parents
- Scrubs are provided
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Previous Allina perm staff must have a 3-month gap since their last shift to be eligible
- RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days
- Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees
