About the role

A long-term care and skilled nursing facility in New Ulm, Minnesota is hiring Registered Nurses to lead resident care on their assigned unit. You will assess residents, develop and revise individualized care plans, administer and reconcile medications, and supervise the nursing assistants and medication aides on your shift. This is a clinical leadership role: you are the licensed professional nurse accountable for the unit during your shift.

What

you will do
  • Assess residents on admission, on change of condition, and on an ongoing basis; document findings and escape to the attending physician and the Director of Nursing.
  • Develop, review, and revise individualized resident care plans in coordination with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in the MDS process and in the facility's quality assurance (QAPI), infection prevention, and safety committees.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; perform medication reconciliation and monitor for adverse effects and interactions.
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate the nursing assistants, medication aides, and nurse-aide trainees assigned to your unit; verify that delegated care is delivered to standard.
  • Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with federal and Minnesota long-term care regulations.
  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharge planning with residents, families, and receiving providers.
  • Apply trauma-informed and dementia-care practices; participate in the resident grievance process when clinical input is required.
  • Enforce infection control, safety, and sanitation standards on the unit.
Requirements
  • Required:

graduate of a Bachelor's-level professional nursing degree program (Licenciatura en Enfermería / BSN) from an accredited college or university. This is a hard requirement — practical-nurse, technical, or diploma-level nursing programs do not qualify for this position.
  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in your home country.
  • NCLEX-RN passed, or actively preparing — we support you through it.
  • English proficiency demonstrated by an accepted exam — IELTS Academic (OET also accepted), meeting the score requirements for CGFNS Visa Screen and for Minnesota licensure.
  • Clinical experience in geriatrics, long-term care, medical-surgical, or a comparable acute setting is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to relocate to New Ulm, Minnesota and to work on-site full-time.
Working conditions
  • Long-term care facility. Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. The role involves standing and walking for extended periods and assisting with resident mobility, including lifting or transferring up to 25 pounds.
Benefits
  • Medical insurance available after 60 days of employment, effective the first of the following month, with multiple plan options and an employer contribution.
  • Dental and vision coverage after 60 days through Mutual of Omaha.
  • A $10,000 life insurance policy at no cost to the employee, with additional coverage available for employee, spouse and dependents.
  • Flexible Spending Account for medical and dependent care on a pre-tax basis.
  • Paid Time Off available after 90 days, accruing at 17 days per year and increasing with longevity, with a 240-hour carryover cap.
  • 401(k) with pre-tax and Roth options; the employer matches 50% of the first 6% contributed, fully vested after three years of service.
Process and support

Global Hire manages the full relocation pathway at no cost to the candidate: credentialing (CGFNS / Visa Screen), English exam preparation, NCLEX-RN, Minnesota state licensure, and the employer-sponsored visa filing and consular process through to arrival and onboarding.
