Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting & Finance

Description We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting skills and expertise in system migrations, particularly between Financial Edge and Sage Intacct. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial data transfer and supporting key accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the migration of historical financial data from Financial Edge to Sage Intacct, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

- Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, to analyze and organize financial data.

- Perform key accounting duties, including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

- Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system implementation.

- Assist in setting up templates and workflows to streamline accounting processes.

- Provide guidance and support to team members during the system transition.

- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and best practices throughout all tasks. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on system migrations.

- Proficiency in Financial Edge and Sage Intacct software.

- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.

- Experience with journal entries and bank reconciliations.

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a contract position.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Familiarity with nonprofit accounting processes is a plus.
