ROLE SUMMARY

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to help strengthen and scale our accounting function during an active growth phase. This role plays a key part in month-end close and core operational accounting processes, while also supporting strategic acquisitions and initiatives to modernize and scale the finance function.

This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in an evolving organization, combining technical accounting expertise with process building and continuous improvement.

Volo is looking for someone who can:

Core Accounting & Close Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries with clear, audit-ready support
• Perform and analyze GL account reconciliations
• Maintain schedules for key accrual-based areas including prepaids, fixed assets, intangibles, rent, accrued expenses, deferred revenue and intercompany
• Ensure GAAP-compliant accounting and timely completion of close deliverables
• Proactively surface risks, unusual activity and improvement opportunities
• Contribute to building and formalizing the internal control environment
• Support internal and external financial reporting
• Assist with acquisition and integration activities, including purchase accounting support and onboarding new entities into the close process

Operational Accounting

• Oversee and execute operational accounting processes, including accounts receivable billing, cash/bank activity tracking and payroll processing
• Review expense coding and transactional activity throughout the month
• Maintain strong data integrity and accurate system utilization

Process Improvement, Automation & Systems

• Evaluate and refine accounting workflows to improve efficiency, scalability and consistency
• Leverage advanced automation tools to streamline processes and reduce manual effort
• Contribute to new system implementations and upgrades as we build a scalable, tech-enabled finance function
• Build expertise in Sage Intacct,  and related programs
• Understand end-to-end transaction flows across financial systems

YOUR EXPECTED SKILL SET & EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years of professional experience
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience supporting month-end close in an accrual-based environment

• Public accounting/audit background
• Experience operating within SOX or ICFR frameworks
• CPA
• Experience with Sage Intacct
• Exposure to process automation or system implementation
