Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Controller to oversee key accounting operations and support various financial tasks. This is a long-term contract position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organization's success while enhancing your expertise.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

- Oversee the general ledger to maintain detailed and accurate financial records.

- Prepare and post journal entries to support daily and monthly accounting activities.

- Conduct account reconciliations to verify the integrity of financial data.

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and banking statements.

- Assist with ad hoc financial tasks and projects as needed.

- Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency and compliance.

- Address discrepancies and resolve issues to maintain accurate financial documentation.

- Support audits by providing necessary records and documentation.

- Provide insights and recommendations to optimize accounting processes. Requirements - Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, with a strong background in accounting functions.

- Proficiency in month-end close and general ledger management.

- Expertise in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.

- Solid understanding of bank reconciliations and financial accuracy.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

- Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
