Key Responsibilities of Grant Accountant:
- Manage a portfolio of grants and contracts, ensuring accurate financial reporting and billing
- Prepare and submit invoices and financial reports to government agencies and private funders
- Monitor compliance with funding requirements and support audit readiness
- Collaborate cross-functionally to respond to funding inquiries and support program teams
- Assist with financial projections, reporting, and database management for contracts
Qualifications of Grant Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business
- 2–3 years of grant accounting experience with exposure to government or foundation funding
- Experience with New York City and New York State funder requirements (DFTA, DYCD, OTDA, etc)
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, IF functions) and ability to analyze financial data
