Bookkeeper

Description

Established New York City firm is currently seeking a Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations. This position is ideal for someone who brings strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on Quick Books expertise, and a highly organized approach to financial recordkeeping.

The right candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, maintaining accuracy across transactions, and partnering with leadership to keep accounting processes running efficiently.

Responsibilities:

- Record and maintain complete and accurate financial transactions, ensuring the general ledger remains current and properly organized.

- Oversee incoming and outgoing payments by managing billing activities, receivables tracking, and vendor disbursements.

- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a regular basis to identify discrepancies and keep balances accurate.

- Review and process invoices, employee expense submissions, and payment requests in a timely manner.

- Track cash activity and contribute to account reviews to support sound financial decision-making.

Requirements

- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience.

- Strong hands-on experience using Quick Books is required.

- Demonstrated background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation activities.

- Solid understanding of core bookkeeping practices, including maintaining accurate financial records and ledger entries.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
