Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to support the financial and operational needs of an organization in New York, New York. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and will oversee core accounting activities, help maintain day-to-day business operations, and provide coordination across payroll, human resources, vendor agreements, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate brings strong bookkeeping expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting the overall financial stability of the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the full bookkeeping cycle, including general ledger activity, transaction processing, and maintenance of accurate financial records.

- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows to ensure timely payments, proper billing, and consistent cash tracking.

- Complete regular bank and account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and maintain reliable supporting documentation.

- Process payroll and assist with related human resources administration while helping ensure compliance with applicable policies and reporting requirements.

- Prepare financial statements, internal reports, and cash flow updates to support leadership in monitoring organizational performance.

- Coordinate operational administrative needs for the organization, including vendor communication and review of service agreements or contracts.

- Support oversight of technology, legal, and other business-related service areas by helping track needs, renewals, and external providers. Requirements - Proven experience in full charge bookkeeping with responsibility for end-to-end accounting functions.

- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.

- Experience preparing financial reports and monitoring cash flow in an organized, accurate manner.

- Ability to manage multiple operational priorities independently while maintaining attention to detail.

- Comfortable supporting administrative functions related to HR, vendor coordination, and financial documentation.

- Proficiency with accounting systems and standard office software used for reporting and recordkeeping.
