Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a real estate and property organization in New York, New York. This fully onsite opportunity is a contract-to-permanent position and is ideal for someone who enjoys managing high-volume financial transactions while maintaining accurate records. The person in this role will support day-to-day accounting operations, with a strong focus on payables, receivables, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Manage a high volume of accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

- Enter, organize, and maintain financial data within accounting systems to support reliable recordkeeping and reporting.

- Review invoices, postings, and supporting documentation to verify coding accuracy, completeness, and mathematical correctness.

- Maintain journals, ledgers, spreadsheets, and accounting records to track daily financial activity and account balances.

- Process cash, check, and voucher transactions while keeping deposit and receipt records current and accurate.

- Reconcile bank statements and internal accounts on a regular basis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

- Prepare financial summaries and reports related to receipts, disbursements, outstanding balances, and overall account activity.

- Follow applicable company practices and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance across bookkeeping processes. Requirements - Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a fast-paced accounting environment.

- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.

- Experience performing bank reconciliations, month-end close support, and general financial record maintenance.

- Proficiency with Quick Books, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting or spreadsheet tools.

- High level of accuracy in data entry, document review, and financial record processing.

- Familiarity with payroll support and handling routine accounting transactions.

- Ability to work fully onsite in New York, New York and manage multiple priorities effectively.
