Take the next step in your hotel finance career with a hands-on leadership role supporting two hotel properties totaling 300+ guest rooms. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Finance to partner with the Director of Finance, lead daily accounting functions, and strengthen financial controls across a portfolio that includes a unionized hotel.

This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented hotel accounting leader who enjoys developing teams, investigating discrepancies, improving processes, and working closely with hotel operations.

What You'll Do

• Support financial management and reporting for both properties, including month-end and year-end close, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, and General Cashiering to ensure accurate records and timely processing.
• Review financial results, general ledger activity, and budget variances; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Manage revenue reconciliations across hotel systems, credit card processors, bank accounts, and the general ledger.
• Partner with Sales and Front Office teams to reconcile group billing, guest folios, deposits, direct billing, travel agent commissions, and OTA receivables.
• Review rate changes, refunds, and folio adjustments to ensure proper authorization and documentation.
• Support payroll processing and reconciliation, including union payroll requirements, reporting, deductions, and related liabilities.
• Maintain internal controls, support tax compliance, and identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows.
• Provide direction to accounting team members and collaborate with department leaders across both hotels.

What You Bring

• At least 3 years of hotel accounting or finance experience. Hotel accounting experience is required.
• Previous supervisory or management experience in a hotel accounting or finance department.
• Experience with hotel payroll, tax compliance, and financial controls.
• Working knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, General Cashiering, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.
• Strong understanding of hotel revenue, occupancy-related taxes, city ledger, credit card settlements, deposits, and cash management.
• Experience with hotel PMS and accounting systems; Opera and M3 experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues independently.
• Strong organization, communication, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines across two properties.
• Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential financial and employee information.
• Union hotel experience, particularly Local 6 payroll, strongly preferred.

Compensation and Position Details

• Annual salary of $100,000–$110,000, based on experience and qualifications.
• Full-time, salaried leadership position supporting two hotel properties.
• Direct partnership with the Director of Finance and hotel operational leadership.
