The united nations secretary-general is responsible for the investment of the assets of the united nations joint staff pension fund (unjspf). The secretary-general has delegated this responsibility to the representative of the secretary-general for the investment of the assets of the unjspf (rsg). The rsg is, in turn, assisted in this function by the office of investment management (oim). Oim manages a $100+ billion multi-asset class, global investment portfolio, about 85% of which is actively managed in-house.
Asset classes under management comprise of global equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, timber and commodities. This position is located in the real estate/real assets team of the private markets section. The incumbent will report to the senior investment officer.
Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the administrative assistant will be responsible for the following duties: general administration
• drafts routine correspondence to respond to enquiries in respect to relevant administrative, financial audit, personal matters.
• identifies and resolves diverse issues/problems as they arise and determines appropriate actions.
• coordinates extensively with service units and liaises frequently with internal team members.
• performs other related administrative duties, as required (e.g., hr, budget and administrative). Investment operations
• provides administrative and coordination support across the investment lifecycle, including deal tracking, due diligence logistics, documentation management, and investment processes for real estate and real assets investment.
• coordinates investment-related meetings and briefings, including preparation of agendas, compilation of materials, and follow-up on action items.
• supports compliance, governance, and esg-related administrative activities by tracking routine disclosures, confirmations, and submission deadlines related to investments. Contract administration
• assists with day-to-day administration of contracts between the un and external contractors for outsourced services.
• audits the contractors' invoices against the goods and services provided by the contractor and approved by the un.
• processes the payment of contractors' invoices and monitor payments.
• prepares and processes all un forms and permissions for the work unit.
