Building at Check

At Check, we make paying people simple. In doing that, we're not just building our own business- we're building payroll businesses together with every one of our partners. As the inventors of embedded payroll, we're redefining how people get paid and making it easier for payroll businesses to launch, grow, and thrive. Check out the full story | Tune in.

Check is far more than just API infrastructure. We're a springboard for building and scaling payroll businesses.

Our Team

Payroll is broken. Come fix it alongside a team that's as passionate as you are! At Check, you'll use creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and grit to impact every business we build. We view problems to solve and jobs to be done as opportunities to contribute to the solution; we ignore conventional role boundaries in favor of the unique strengths and value each builder brings to our team and to our mission.

Join us if you're ready to roll up your sleeves and redefine payroll. Let's simplify the complex, make a real impact, and create a better future for businesses of every size.

Partner Success Managers are responsible for protecting and growing Check's revenue, which can only be accomplished through careful and thoughtful partner management. In this role, you'll serve as General Manager for a portfolio of 5-10 high priority partners. You'll manage these partners by establishing and maintaining a communication cadence with your portfolio, and provide proactive reporting on their status internally.

We expect our team to roll up their sleeves and execute with a high degree of autonomy, sharing information and knowledge early and often with peers and stakeholders. You will work closely with cross-functional internal and external teams, including Sales, R&D, Marketing, Enablement, and others. Together, you'll identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and execute on targets with determination and precision.

Candidates ideal for this role are tenacious, goal-oriented, and experienced with building detailed plans with Partners/customers. You must have a knack for ruthless prioritization, and comfort operating in technical and commercially complex environments.

In this role, you will:

* Execute all phases of the post-sales Partner lifecycle, including ownership of a target, renewal negotiations, and account (partner) management

* Earn the trust of our Partners and build in-depth relationships by maintaining a complete understanding of their business goals and objectives across various stakeholders

* Consult on our Partners' payroll business by investigating the root cause of blockers, outlining and selling Partners on the appropriate strategies to unblock inefficiencies and revenue, and creating strategic execution plans

* Outline mutual success metrics/KPIs with our Partners that align their and Check's revenue/growth goals

* Become a product and industry expert, and act as a trusted advisor to ensure every Partner is leveraging the full value of Check

* Develop, execute, and maintain a communication cadence with your portfolio of Partners

* Inform cross-functional counterparts on focus areas relative to Partner needs and pain points

* Identify, clearly communicate, and manage risk throughout the year through proactive touchpoints and taking the lead in developing resolution strategies

* Partner with cross-functional teams to build appropriate communication plans including but not limited to releases, roadmap updates, compliance updates, and incident management

* Introduce and implement new products and features to your Partners, evaluate their success, and navigate feedback channels with them and Check's Product team

Many backgrounds could fit this role, but ideal candidates will have most or all of the following:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in a related field

* 5+ years of relevant work experience, including:

* Experience in the SaaS space - experience in the fintech or payroll space a plus

* Post-sales partner/account management or existing account growth experience

* Demonstrated success owning a portfolio of customer or partner relationships with complex technical/product needs

* Experience owning the full account…
