Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Normal Team builds foundational software and hardware that help move technology forward - supporting the semiconductor industry, critical AI infrastructure, and the broader systems that power our world. We work as one team across New York, San Francisco, Copenhagen, Seoul, and London.
Your Role in Our Mission:
As a Forward-Deployed Product Manager (FDPM), you operate at the forefront of Normal's product evolution. You will embed closely with our most strategic semiconductor partners and own Normal's product success within their organizations. Product success in this role spans the full arc of engagement - from initial use case discovery, to scaled adoption, and to shaping the next generation of Normal's product surfaces.
The best of what you build ships to every Normal customer in the world.
You will work directly with the leadership teams of the world's most influential companies and operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy with Normal's resources, relationships, and scale behind you.
You're comfortable engaging across levels, from strategic discussions with senior client leadership to working through product and build details with engineers. You've shipped products that delivered real adoption and outcomes, and you're motivated to do so at greater scale, on more consequential problems.
Responsibilities:
- Be the product leader for our most critical customers. Take ownership of product success across the full engagement from early discovery through scaled production adoption, ensuring that Normal EDA product platform becomes embedded in production chip design workflows and delivers measurable impact.
- Trusted thought partner. Earn trust at the highest levels of our customer organizations - not as a vendor, but as the person who understands their business well enough to build for it. You'll set the product vision for what Normal can become inside their organization and be accountable to deliver it.
- Lead opportunity discovery. Lead with a clear point of view, not just a list of questions. Diagnose how our customers and product users operate, identify where Normal EDA can meaningfully shift outcomes, and translate that insight into product hypotheses. Define new use cases and product surfaces, and work closely with our forward-deployed engineering team to turn validated hypotheses into delivered product capabilities.
- Shape Normal's product roadmap. Distill customer insight into structured product direction and prioritization. Separate one-off constraints from systemic opportunities and directly shape how Normal EDA evolves as an end-to-end AI platform for chip design.
- Scale what proves itself. Once something works, you'll make it repeatable, helping the broader team build on what you've learned. Turn successful engagements into repeatable patterns and durable platform capabilities that compound over time.
- Experience in enterprise B2B product at a high-growth technology company, and/or management consulting at a top-tier consulting firm.
- Strong technical background (CS/ EE background or similar technical field)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to bring clarity to complex, ambiguous situations.
- Executive presence and strong business judgment, with the ability to operate effectively with senior leadership and connect product to business outcomes.
- Low ego, analytical rigor, and strong intellectual honesty. Open to feedback, receptive to diverse perspectives, and motivated by continuous learning and growth.
- An entrepreneurial sense of ownership for overall team and product success, with the ability to mobilize cross-functional teams and drive progress.
- Background in semiconductors, or strong interest in getting up to speed on chip design and semiconductor engineering workflows.
- Experience building AI products in early-stage startups or 0 to 1 environments, including founder or early founding team experience.
