Multimedia Streaming Specialist, Tier 1

BASIC FUNCTION:

Working under the supervision of the Director of Media Services Bureau to design, manage and deliver audio/visual infrastructure and streaming content for on demand and live events throughout ESD's ecosystem.

WORK PERFORMED:

• Create and manage visual and aural elements for multimedia content to include but not limited to animations and video effects.
• Work with stakeholders to maintain and troubleshoot AV infrastructure across all ESD locations.
• Troubleshoot AV technical issues to include playback, buffering, and equipment issues.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure content is visually appealing and technically sound.
• Manage and organize content for streaming platforms and content servers/websites.
• Work with stakeholders to integrate content on various platforms.
• Monitor and tune performance of streaming content for optimal viewer experience.
• Create and edit content and graphics as needed.
• Oversee concept, development, timelines and strategy for AV projects.
• Schedule, coordinate and deliver video conferences and meeting streaming for ESD staff and external stakeholders as needed.
• Preparing reports for ESD management and other stakeholders
• Assist with IT Disaster Recovery efforts, testing and documentation when needed.
• Perform other related duties and / or projects as directed by IT Management
• Position expected to work onsite and/or remote consistent with NYS and ESD policies and guidelines.
• Mange and broadcast all ESD meetings for internal and external programs and projects as required by law and or statue.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education Level required: BA in a Multimedia/AV / Film production related discipline with minimum of 3 years' experience in related field;
Or a 2-year degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience;
Or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Experience required: Experience in technically producing multimedia communication projects using elements of audiovisual production, broadcast media, OTT streaming or web-based content. Knowledge of software used in live production like VMix, Vimeo, Brightcove and similar applications. Multi-camera expertise is a must.

Knowledge required: Familiarity with analog and digital signal paths.

Experience with NDI, 2110 and SDI production set-up and execution. Knowledge of network design, routing and switching. Ability to work with a diverse group of people at both a functional and technical level and communicate at a level appropriate to audience;
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
