HEPCO is seeking an Associate Project Manager Level III (APM) for our client to support capital projects through all phases of the project life cycle. This role focuses on code compliance and accessibility standards, ensuring adherence to New York State Fire and Building Codes and the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Position Overview
Under supervision, the Associate Project Manager Level III will review and monitor capital projects from pre-design through closeout to ensure compliance with applicable Fire, Building, and ADA regulations. The selected candidate will provide technical review, written commentary, and inspection support to ensure regulatory requirements are fully integrated into project design and construction.
- Review capital projects throughout all phases (pre-design through closeout) for compliance with NYS Fire and Building Codes and ADA requirements
- Review project drawings, narratives, Master Plans, and Scope of Work documents to ensure regulatory compliance
- Provide detailed written comments and recommendations during multiple design phases
- Participate in design review meetings to verify ADA compliance is fully incorporated into project designs
- Perform construction acceptance and/or maintenance inspections for Fire, Code, and ADA compliance at stations and facilities undergoing rehabilitation
- Ensure adherence to State Fire and Building Codes, ADA Accessibility Guidelines, and associated documentation requirements
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Business Administration, or Public Administration with two (2) years of relevant experience; OR
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with six (6) years of relevant experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in code enforcement, accessible design, plan review of fire department operations, energy conservation, or site inspections
- Experience must include supervisory responsibilities
- OSHA 30-hour certification (must be completed prior to performing work on or near wayside areas)
- Demonstrated knowledge of building materials
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Successful completion of track safety training for applicable transit agencies
- Must complete New York State Code Enforcement Official Certification prior to beginning work

Pay Range: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
