Urgent Care Physician (High-Acuity Advanced Urgent Care)
Compensation: $300,000 $ 400,000 annually (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, in-person; 12-hour shifts (14 shifts per month), NO ON CALL We are seeking a full-time Urgent Care Physician to join a high-acuity, advanced urgent care center offering a clinical environment similar to an emergency department without 24/7 overnight coverage. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced physician who enjoys procedural work, complex cases, and working within a collaborative, APP-supported team model.
This setting is ideal for physicians with Emergency Medicine training or strong ER experience who are seeking a predictable schedule and strong compensation in a well-equipped outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities Evaluate and manage high-acuity urgent care patients across a broad spectrum of conditions
Perform procedures including but not limited to:
Advanced wound care Paracentesis and thoracentesis
Cardioversion
BiPAP management
Infusions and transfusions
Interpret on-site diagnostics including moderate-complexity lab testing, X-ray, and ultrasound
Stabilize and triage patients requiring higher levels of care Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers in a team-based model
Complete documentation and charting prior to end of shift
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical setting
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited residency program (Emergency Medicine strongly preferred; Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with ER experience considered)
Board Eligible or Board Certified Active California medical license (or ability to obtain)
Strong procedural skill set and comfort managing higher-acuity patients
ER experience strongly preferred; not ideal for new graduates
