Assistant Teacher - Full Time

Pay: $18-$20 per hour

Schedule:

Full-Time, Monday-Friday

The Learning Experience - Hell's Kitchen is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role supports classrooms serving infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children in a structured, play-based learning environment.

Our school focuses on building confidence, curiosity, and social-emotional growth through hands-on learning and consistent daily routines.

Position Overview

As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with Lead Teachers and leadership to maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment while supporting children throughout their day.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist Lead Teachers with implementing activities aligned with the L.E.A.P. curriculum

* Support classroom routines including meals, transitions, rest time, and play

* Engage children in age-appropriate learning experiences across multiple classrooms as needed

* Help maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety

* Communicate professionally with families during arrival and dismissal

* Follow all NYC Department of Health licensing and safety regulations

* Collaborate with teaching teams to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED required

* Experience in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting preferred

* Early Childhood Education coursework a plus

* CPR and First Aid preferred or willingness to obtain

* Must meet all NYC childcare licensing and background requirements
