Job Description:
Individuals appointed will be responsible for teaching tailoring courses at multiple levels within the Menswear Design AAS Degree Program. This position requires an in-depth understanding of classic and bespoke tailoring techniques.
The successful candidate will instruct students in a comprehensive range of hands-on methods essential for constructing meticulously crafted, fully lined suit jackets. Instruction includes all stages of bespoke garment creation, from fabric cutting to finishing details, ensuring students gain a strong foundation in precision craftsmanship and professional standards.
Adjunct instructors deliver relevant course material, assess student performance, provide guidance and assistance to students both in and out of the classroom, and submit grades on time. Course descriptions are available in the online catalog.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Associate's degree or equivalent certificate required.
* Minimum of six (6) years of full-time professional tailoring experience.
* In-depth understanding of classic and bespoke tailoring techniques.
* Expertise in all aspects of garment creation, from fabric cutting to finishing details of bespoke pieces.
* Basic computer literacy required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior experience teaching at the college level.
* Bachelor of Fine Arts degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Mastery of bespoke tailoring methods and garment construction.
* Ability to communicate effectively in classroom and studio environments.
* Familiarity with classroom technology and college course management systems.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time position, adjunct teaching position beginning in Spring 2026. Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled. The department will keep this posting open to create a pool of candidates for potential future adjunct assignments. The department will contact applicants whose qualifications fit our programmatic needs.
Compensation
The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) governs the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment.
$89.98 per hour based on minimum qualifications. The final rate, step and appointment rank are determined by a candidate's ability to demonstrate that they meet the respective school's additional criteria for hiring "above the first step," in accordance with the CBA Adjunct Salary Schedules (pp 88-89).
