Staff Associate, Education ​/ Teaching

The Department of Economics at Columbia University invites applications for a full-time predoctoral fellow at the rank of Staff Associate I from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2028 to work with faculty of the Department of Economics at Columbia University. The initial appointment is for one year with renewal for a second year based on satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.

The position will include a variety of tasks that provide preparation for graduate school, such as analyzing data, developing statistical models, creating presentations, and editing research papers. The fellows will interact regularly with professors and their collaborators. The program serves as an ideal bridge between college and graduate school for students interested in economics.

Minimum qualifications:

BA by time of appointment, strong quantitative and programming skills

Preferred qualifications:

Research experience, especially with programming experience in Stata, Matlab, R, and Python.

Candidates would ideally begin around July 1, 2026, and work for two years before applying to graduate school in Economics or another social science.
