Assistant Professor of Medical Sciences (in Medicine), tenure track - CCTI and the Center for Healthy Longevity

Columbia University's Department of Medicine and the Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI), in collaboration with the Center for Healthy Longevity (CHL), invite applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Medical Sciences (in Medicine), tenure track. The successful candidate will be expected to build an independent research program related to the immune system and aging, particularly in the area of cellular senescence in aging.

The candidate must have demonstrated research acumen and have a history of obtaining independent funding. Ideal candidates will also possess superior teaching and interpersonal skills. Candidates should have significant post-doctoral research experience and training in biomedical research, and a strong record of scholarly achievement. Candidates should also have extensive experience with animal models of aging.

The successful candidate will work with other investigators and will collaborate in the design of data collection, the analysis and interpretation of results, submission of sponsored research grants and the publication of manuscripts. Candidates may be in translational areas that support clinical translational research initiatives across the department.

The duties of this position include:

Research/Education/Administrative: 100%. Candidates should have strong research training and commensurate with rank, leadership experience in biomedical research in the areas of cellular senescence in aging.

Candidates should have a documented record of scholarly achievement.

Minimum Qualifications: PhD or equivalent professorial degree.

Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate is expected to have a successful record of extramurally funded research, or to demonstrate potential to obtain extramural research funding
