Trevor Day School is seeking After school Teachers for Nursery-5th Grade for the 2023-24 School Year. The teacher will work to fulfill Trevor's mission and education philosophies and practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include co-teaching with other after school teachers with daily routines of
supervising up to 60 children at a time, setting up and distributing
snack, taking attendance, dismissal, and leading activities. - On a daily basis the children attend different specialized activities, and the children who are not registered in classes, remain in the After School room with the After school Teacher. They have the option of free-play, homework or joining an organized group activity.
- This teacher will also assist some of the specialized classes on certain days if needed, such as chess, rollerblading, sports classes, cooking etc.
- Days:
Monday-Friday
Hours:
2:30-5:45pm (possibility of working until 6pm)
Pay: $33.00 per hour
- Previous experience working with children at the early childhood and/or elementary level in the classroom or summer camp.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Many of our After school teachers also have the option to work as Substitute Teachers during the day.
- The candidate in this position also has extra opportunities to work at a variety of events throughout the year supervising childcare while parents and teachers are in meetings.
- There is also a 2 week camp in June that is run by our After school teachers.
