Network Engineer

Description We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in New York, New York. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to work in the asset management industry, focusing on high-level network design, implementation, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in network engineering and a strong background in Cisco technologies and firewalls.

Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and maintain network solutions using Cisco routers and switches.

- Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls to ensure network security.

- Oversee the deployment and administration of Cisco ASA devices.

- Implement and troubleshoot Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) to optimize network performance.

- Monitor network performance and address issues to minimize downtime.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network upgrades and improvements.

- Provide technical expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex network problems.

- Document network configurations, processes, and updates for future reference.

- Ensure compliance with organizational and industry security standards.

- Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities. Requirements - A minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering.

- Expertise in working with Cisco routers, switches, and ASA devices.

- Hands-on experience configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls.

- Strong knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and its implementation.

- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues.

- Familiarity with industry-standard network security practices.

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
