Job Title
Our client is a leading company in development and manufacture of electronics for various industries and applications. Qualified candidates will want to join a solid, growing team in a dynamic, customer-focused environment. You will have the ability to interface with customers, other departments, and suppliers.
Essential Functions:- Support design engineering in component selection activities during design and development
- Analyze system and customer requirements to ensure that the selected components meet specs
- Perform part research to support engineering, interface directly with part suppliers
- Provide input to new designs to improve product reliability
- Perform reliability modelling and predictions (Including MTBF calculations); perform fault analysis
- Create and revise part procurement specifications to facilitate part/material acquisition.
- Support supplier management and material procurement activities
- Find alternate component, new component or new design based on cost and availability
- Interface with various material suppliers to obtain documentation related to compliance standards, work with environmental compliance analyst, update PLM / ERP database
- Identify obsolete components and/or suppliers and develop solutions to resolve all such issues
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry or Physics MS degree a plus
- A complete understanding of Component environmental requirements and YTEOL (Years to End of Life)
- Familiarity with Component Procurement
- Knowledge of or ability to research a device manufacturers products and part numbering convention and understand the product definition / specifications defined
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- Effective oral and written communication skills, ability to lead
- Experience with: developing obsolescence mitigation options; product and procurement management systems; data mining solutions; configuration management processes; bill of materials and manufacturing processes; electrical / electronic manufacturing products; reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex documents and engineering drawings; writing scientific documentation including test results
