HDR has an excellent opportunity in our New York/New Jersey Area for a professional to lead the development and growth of our Area's Highway & Roads Market Sector (H&R MS), which is the biggest Market Sector in our Transportation Business Group (TBG). The NY/NJ Highways & Roads Market Sector Leader (H&R MSL) is a professional that is well versed in all aspects of the transportation market, including business development, technical delivery, and project execution.
This is a diverse role that includes driving and implementing our strategy and influencing the growth and development of our transportation business. The H&R MSL will be focused on developing and nurturing strong relationships with clients and teaming partners and collaborating on client management activities to support our transportation team and drive our business development.
As the H&R MSL, you will report to the NY/NJ TBG Manager and team with our NY/NJ TBG Business Development Lead, H&R MS Client Managers, Project Managers, Business Class Leads and Technical staff to support business development and project delivery for the H&R MS in New York and New Jersey. In addition to your primary responsibilities as summarized below, the H&R MSL will be responsible for collaborating on technical delivery and business development for cross-business group opportunities within the area.
You will also support recruiting efforts to attract and retain eminent talent for our local program.
The specific responsibilities of this position are divided into Business Development and Project Management.
Business DevelopmentResponsibilities Include:
- Promote the marketing and delivery of all HDR services to clients within NY/NJ working with our client managers and project managers.
- Provide leadership to H&R Client Managers including working with the H&R client managers to drive client development and pursuit processes based on proven capture techniques.
- Support selected NY/NJ area pursuits through client relationship development and/or through development of strategy and participation in pursuit activities.
- Monitor marketing capabilities and provide H&R MS support to help the NY/NJ Area achieve goals.
- Develop relationships with industry counterparts in other consulting organizations.
- Develop relationships with senior leadership in key H&R client organizations.
- Lead and/or assist with the identification and recruitment of prospective future market sector employees.
- Work cooperatively with Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts.
- Participate in industry associations and serve as a company role-model in business and community organizations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as Principal in Charge, Project Director, or Project Manager or in a major project / program delivery role to execute work and take responsibility for production and delivery
- Support project staffing and resourcing decisions, workload, and MS utilization metrics
- Manage and supervise H&R MS staff, if applicable
- Coordinate and collaborate about MS services with Business Class Leaders in the Area
- Monitor market sector financial performance indicators NFE/NFB/profits/positive equity/AR/losses/investments.
- Work with the Area Business Group Manager on development and delivery of market sector initiatives.
- Support local staff with mentorship, training, and quality reviews on Area projects
